New Problem stripped spindle bolt holes Help!

I was changing my left front axle and found out three of the bolt holes are stripped. Can I use longer bolts and nut the back? Or drill and tap out bigger?
Thanks for the help.

Mine have been drilled out and tapped for 7/16 bolts for years.

You have to drill the spindles to match the larger bolts, but mine have been fine and I don't treat things very nice. I have no worries about it.

Looks like I will be making a run to Lowes. Did you use a 7/16 fine thread? Also what grade bolt?

Thanks for the help.

I'd use fine thread grade 8. There's a lot of shear force on those bolts.
