I want more CARNE ASADA;D

Got the transmission parts in, output shaft (fits NP205), extension Housing (fits), A servo, truck governor, BW Hi perf od band, shift kit, rebuild kit, spiral snap ring. I even got the .2" spacers for the explorer disc rear conversion from Currie, the tracking showed next Monday, got them yesterday.

I removed the explorer 90 degree elbow from the intake and solved the oil cap to TB intake issue, Thanks Viper Wolf. I plan to start cleaning trans parts and read my AOD rebuild manual (been 4 years since I did one) I found some you tube videos on it also.

I am hoping to re-assemble AOD and install into frame together with TC and maybe rear shaft this weekend, I will then temporarily mount body find the TC location to build the custom supports.

The only issue is that my Bro is back from Cancun and bought a Best Top soft top for his 75 that he wants me to help him install. I was hoping he would come back and help me, he probably figures I owe him for selling me the EB, I do:cool:

 Got shift kit installed, always fun to drill and change springs. installed transmission into frame and transfer case. put tub on frame to check clearances and measure the location of the new cross member. removed frame and will now design cross member. a little tired, a lot of fun still and my Bro is helping finally;D

Hey G,
Is that body on pic with the 2" body lift installed??? Curious about the space in the firewall behind the intake. Looks like plenty of room for the PCM box, where I plan on putting mine..

HGM, yes that is with a 1.5" BL, I am waiting on a 2" lift to clear my TC a little better. I thought we needed to put he computer inside the cab and as high as possible. Where are you contemplating the location? I am also going EFI.

Nice..

I took the "box" out of the donor Explorer and plan to put it in the firewall above the trans. Its just the right width to fit in that notch.. I figure I'll cut it out before too long, but had planned to set the engine in first. The only issue will be the windshield support, the trough hangs a little low there and may require the PCM to be tilted downward or mounted about 1/2" lower in the firewall. It will end up about 12" from its original location in the Explorer, should look like it belongs.. Ford put it there with a heat sink, I dont think it will be an issue.

Sounds good, I am going with the mustang computer, originally in side the car on the right of passenger foot area, behind a panel.

sounds like you are swapping in a newer EFI system. I did consider buying an explorer, but they where selling at the salvage auction for around $1500, and planned to go carburated originally.

are you also going with a NP 205 or did you go the AA way and keep your TC?

;D I got the whole Explorer for $500, with a bad Tq converter;D..

So, yes, it will be OBDII and I will be hanging the 205 I picked up last week from a buddy, seemed like a no brainer to me.... I've been watching your build pretty closely, because we've got some real similarities..

Have you tried the extension housing against the 205?:)
I thought it did not match, I saw a couple of TC's at the bone yard from explorers and looked different. I even brought a gasket home with me and no luck.

I ended up buying a truck extension housing and output shaft on eBay for $100 dollars. Let me know cause my Bro is contemplating the swap for his 351W C4, and there are plenty of explorers in the bone yards.

how far are you on the rebuild, ahead of me or next to me, I just ask cause I am documenting as much as possible but have no way of knowing weather it is helping others, you are one of the few that has chimed in. ;D

I am getting a lot of help from members who have been down this road before and want to contribute

Unfortunatly, my Explorer is 4x2 and I'll have to convert. But, I believe the bolt pattern is different..

I've been planning to document and do a build thread, but have been a little leary as I dont know how fast or slow it will go. I figured I'd just catch everyone up when I got a full head of steam.. Maybe thats the wrong approach.. I'll have to re-think it a bit..

As for mine, I've got it stripped to the firewall and am curently rebuilding it to my liking. I am trying to mock up and disassemble from front to back as I go. As soon as I get the chance, the engine will get dropped in so I can lay my harness and make all the adjustments...... You get the picture... I think this convinced me, I will just start my thread soon.. If you run into anything, let me know, your ahead of me, but some of it is pretty close..

I took some measurements last night for the cross members for the Trans and TC, I got to find a way to get to the metal mart before they close.

I got a hot buyer for the Ramcharger, low money, but they sure are not desirable judging by the response to my ads. :(

I was going to part it out, but the time, money and blood I put into it will not allow me to do so. I could probably get a little more, but i rather know that my creation is still alive somewhere in Arizona, where no smog is required and the beast will live on.

I need to take the HID ballasts and radio off tonight so no EB workie.

;D changed my mine, I am keeping the ramcharger in hopes to not loose much money and maybe build a tow rig out of it. Some one wants the 440 Six-pack for a 1933 dodge, if I get decent money for the engine I might go diesel on the Ram.

Tonight I will hopefully try the rear drive shaft on the Bronco. and also install the front one, just to start the creation of the exhaust and trans/TC supports.

I installed the Drive shafts and both fit, I have 2" of splines left on the front, and 1.5" on the rear. I think that the 3.5" suspension lift and manual transmission/dana 30 combo, being replaced by the AOD and NP205 are not requiring me to modify drive shafts. I am OK with that, in the future I will clean, replace u-joints on both (6 total) and paint.

I am still working on the gathering of steel for the cross members.

 BTW, I am parting out the Ramcharger, got 3 people interested on the six-pack 440, 2 on the tires/wheels and one on the axles.
the good news is that I get to keep the cooling system for my EB, aluminum radiator with new Mark fan, 100 amp relay and temp sending unit, large engine oild cooler and matching large pancake trans cooler.

Also a lot of steel to build stuff for the bronco.

;D all this combined with the MOPAR colors in the engine, will make the spirit of the Dodge mate with the Bronco;D

Sold axles and tires to fellow RC central member and am pulling six pack 440 in the morning for guy building a 1933 Chrysler. MY buddy Jose, came by and will bring tools next week to make cross member and exhaust on EB.

got two 2 chamber flow masters from Ram for EB as well as extra large pancake coolers for engine oil and transmission. also got Aluminum radiator and Mark VII electrical fan from Ram.

Days are getting shorter and is getting harder to do work on the EB on the evenings, family and real job on the way (thank God for both). I plan to keep dismantling the Ramcharger this weekend and see if I can work on the trans/TC supports and exhaust, My friend Jose is coming over with the welding equipment, my Bro and Nephew can help on the Ram. My son is turning 16 and he is having his band over to party, nothing like a bunch of long haired 250 plus pound teenagers (taller than me) running around the house and playing rock. like a herd of baby bull buffalo ;D

OK, got the Ramcharger 90% disassembled, sold all the drive-train, removed glass, cut up rear bumper/cage assembly, cut up top and most of tub. carefully removed all electrical, lights (hid and LED for future use on EB). radiators and mark VII fan for EB, kept engine cooler hoses, filter adapter and radiator also for EB, my $1,500 sound system, the dual batteries and isolator, x pipe and flow masters. I plan to finish the saws-all dance this week, clean the work area and re-arrange it.

Saturday i shall get started on the cross members of TC and trans, and exhaust routing. I also want to start mocking up the front grill/fenders assy, since I will not use inner fenders. I did not run any on the Ram and in 15 years, i went thru mud a couple of times, hosed it down and was done.

I must have missed something, can you fill me in on WHY you need this special transfer case mount ? What is it that your doing ?

Isn't the 4R70 the same case as an AOD ?

WAZZZZZAAA sTONEpNY, long time no talk. I am rebuilding with an AOD (4rw70 internals) and NP205 TC, instead of the 3 speed manual and dana TC. I am having to fabricate a mount that will clear the front driveshaft, and support the extension housing. also the NP205 has 3 bolt holes on the side to add a secondary support to the frame from them, this one looks easier to fabricate, and angle and poly bushings.
