well not a Bronco newbie, but new on the forum here.
I've owned 14 Bronco's 1 '67, 1 '68, 2 69's, 1 '70, 1 '72, 1 '75, 2 76's and 2 '77's. (9 on the road, 5 bought for the road, but ended up parting them out)
This was mid 80's to late 90's. The good old days when you could buy one that was road-worthy for $500-$1500.00. I spent prob 5 years worth of weekends rebuilding, completely re-wiring, painting etc. I think I paid Jeffs Bronco Graveyard and Tom's Bronco Parts house mortgages with all the money I spent!!!! My saving grace was that I worked for a Ford dealer and was able to buy a ton of OEM A and B pillars, rocker panels and other parts that quickly went into obsolescence. Yeah...when I sold my last '69 Half Cab, all those parts went too.
Anyway, after a long break, I need to once again scratch that itch.
There's a '69 that I have a very good chance of getting from the original owner. It's a base model....the 'ol gas station special...6 cyl, open 411's, 2780 pkg. Frame is like new. an old plow, that thankfully is bolted (not welded) on.
Everything else is typical...sagging doors, floor pans shot, the bottom of the tailgate looks like a mad dog chewed on it.....etc.
I believe the mileage is original at 64k miles.
So....any ideas on what price point I should be at. I see prices all over the place....Thanks

PS I'm not able to post pics yet..I assume because it my first post.

Prices are all over. I'd make an offer on what I'd be ok with and go from there. You need to sign up as a contributor to post pics.

yeah I know, but I'm trying to get a ballpark. From what I've seen, I think I'd go as much as $4k. It's a northeast truck...not a New Mexico/Arizona/Texas truck. Even without going nuts on a restor. I'm figuring $5k to make it decent enough to trust it on the road.

Oh and I just joined.....Thanks

With a clean title and a straight frame, I think you would be doing well to get it for $4k. On the other hand, the owner could probably get more than that from someone else w/ the current market conditions.

Thanks guys...and I edited my typo above, it should have read the truck is a '69, not '67.
Anyway, I will know more after this weekend.
Seems like yesterday I'd pass one parked on the side of some guys house, knock on his door and he almost hugged me for relieving him of the eyesore. lollll
Now?...forget it. Everyone thinks they own the Holy Grail.
But I'll start at $2k and see what he says. Who knows....maybe that'll work or it will get the wrong end of an 870 stuffed in my nose.!

I paid 3500 for a 74 in very similar shape out of Colorado 2 years ago. 302 that needs freshening up, a good 4 spd, good hard top, probably a little less rust than you're talking about but enough to have to replace a lot of pieces. I thought I got a pretty good deal considering some others I've seen. I wouldn't be afraid of paying 4k for the one you're looking at. Mine's going to take considerably more than 5k to get going, tho. I'm waiting for 2 more years to retire to get serious about working on it. And about 30k to drop from my money tree outside.;D

Ugh… owner said he checked with his 17 y/o grandson who didn't want but now he does…wants to make it a “swamp buggy”. Sheesh.
“But if anything changes, I'll let you know”
So the search will continue.

Maybe you could offer the grandson some cash. I think 4k would be a great deal these days. Sure would be a shame if it became a swamp buggy.

Along the same lines, offer to buy the kid a 4WD Toyota truck in the $3 to 4K range. It would make a better (or more deserving!) swamp buggy! A win-win.
