Just wanted to take a quick minute to say hello as well as reach out to the Houston area Bronco community.

Although I do not currently own a Bronco, I do have a '77 sitting in the garage that is in DESPERATE need of some love. She had been sitting in the backyard at a buddies house for years and it shows. We got her out of the weather and into my garage about a month and a half ago with the intention of getting her road worthy again. Due to my long standing dream to own an EB I could hardly contain my excitement and dove right in on the tear down. I spent the next 4 weeks removing the grill, fenders, hood and radiator as well as pulling out the roll cage, seats and carpeting. After seeing the external rust, I was expecting worse under the carpet, but was shocked to find that roof flashing and pop rivets were all that was keeping the 4 point from dragging the asphalt. I am not intimidated by the task that lies ahead in rebuilding her, but would like to get with someone else in the Houston area who has some experience to learn a few tricks and nuisances of working on the EB. I'd be happy to spring for the cold beverages as well as lend an extra set of hands.

Welcome Chris!

I was expecting worse under the carpet, but was shocked to find that roof flashing and pop rivets were all that was keeping the 4 point from dragging the asphalt.

Hey I wish at least that much was holding mine. 1 bolt on each corner and almost rusted away original floorboard is all keeping mine in.

Find yourself an industrial sized can of elbow grease. Better make that a case. Welcome to CB.

Welcome! I'm in the same boat. First EB...good bit of rust...complete tear down...now starting to go back together. If you're ever down near AP let me know, and we can compare notes.

Welcome aboard Chris! You'll find most if the info you'll need to rebuild your rig right here on CB.com. Don't fool yourself into thinking you can get your rig "done" in a few weeks/months unless you have deep pockets, and plenty if spare time. You'll get discouraged, and feel like giving up some days but just regroup and find encouragement here, we've all been there.

If you plan on stickin around a while, become a contributor and post up some pics.

Join LEBC and/or at least get on the mail list for contact with some locals.

Depending on how far you want to drive I'd be happy to give some advice (but I won't be that far north for awhile). Shoot me a PM anytime.
