Where did everyone get these that used them? I've tried a couple of different Ace hardware stores, one in Lincoln and one in Omaha and haven't found any, only the aluminum rivnuts.

yup, Fastenal. Used to get some from Airparts, Inc. in Kansas City along with Kle-Co (sp?) clamps, drill bits, mill cutters, etc. They sell stuff that's been "de-commissioned" from areospace/aeronautical businesses but is still otherwise useable for us "low-tech" guys. Also sold scraps, cutoffs, and misc. really cool stuff like aeronautical guages, etc. Once even made a sweet table with some landing gear parts we got from them. I've been gone from KC for a few years now, but I think they're still in business & do have a catalog.

I went to Ace today and I got the deer in the headlights look 3 TIMES!!! Went to Lowes, Home Depot, got the same look over and over. 1 guy had me draw the damn thing and proceeded to give me the look one more time and send me over to the hitch and trailer section :p %) :p I found a fastenal around the corner, I'll check there next.

Airparts is indeed still around and kicks ass. I'm not sure what half of the stuff is in th eplace but it's a damn neat place.
