Whatever you want boss. I'd prefer vhf because my big radios aren't dual band.

VHF good for line of sight, UHF good for obstructions like buildings.

I believe that too till I read the article on rugged

http://www.ruggedradios.com/blog/vhf-and-uhf-explained/

Interesting. I think it still makes the basic distance vs density summary somewhat valid.

Radio, Not sure where my hand held is, loaned it out at some point. haha

The 71 isn't ready to drive yet, I am picking up a lift and a 76 front axle at the event. Can I bring my mountain bike? I could shred some trails on that!

Well hell, guess I've been out of things too long. Still have CB in mine. Couldn't tell you the last time I used it.

So, what do I need to spend money on now? Sounds like having a dual band gives more options?

The hand held versions work well too... $26-30 on Amazon.

I got 2 handheld boofangs but I cant hear em half the time. But they are the $62 3rd generation ones . The boofangs about the best walkies Ive used, gonna research the diif in them and the rugged radio version.
