have a 76 bronco, c4 with 302v8. occasionally, the engine will rattle/knock after a drive. not all the time. i normally use 87 octane gas. what causes the knocking? any suggestions on how to minimize/stop?? thanks.
;D ;D ;D Not being able to hear it I would say look at timming mite be off just a little. If it is you should get it fixed as it can burn a piston good lucl. Bill %)
If it is runnin good, and you have rebuilt your motor or it is built up a little, i would just try some fuel additives first. If that dosn't help then yeah, like bill, and cracker said: timing.
If the EGR valve isnt working or disconnected it will cause a light load ping also. Does it light load ping or ping under acceleration? If its acceleration back the timing off 2 degrees or use better gas
You are stating that there is a knock/rattle after a drive. Do you mean when you turn it off you get the noise? Or does it happen while idling? More details please, too little information for me to be guessing what could be wrong.
