Oil Capacity for 302

The engine year/size isn't really relevent to the oil capacity. It is the pan that makes the difference. But yes, a stock bronco pan holds 6 quarts with a new filter (and the engine run to fill the filter).

I sent it away when I sold the Ranger (was in the paperwork somewhere), but I once found the oil level height below the pan rail for a 302. With this you can have any size or shape of oil pan but still get the level correct. This will let you set the correct oil level, not based on volume.

Interesting, mine blows it out the front main if filled with more than 5 qts. It got new seals less than 5000km ago. More reason for the roller block EFI swap I guess.

It's not the amount, it's the level that is important. The pan is what sets the amount of oil needed to reach the level desired. Different pans take different amounts of oil to reach the right level.

Yeah, I have the Bronco pan so I think its just grooved out at the seal. I hate leakers, that's why I did them when I had it out. The roller 5.0 might become a 331 so hopefully a non issue with a new crank.
