Are there any other ford cars/trucks that has an oil pan that fits the Bronco? I want to find something that will fit and has a dipstick in the pan. I'm tired of the dipstick block in the pan leaking. I know milodon has the deep rear sump 4x4 pan but don't really want to spend 300+ on an oil pan. Thanks

Hey neighbor, unless I'm misunderstanding what you want, can't you just weld the oil pan dipstick unit to the oil pan? I have a 302 in mine and it leaked. I removed the oiled pan and had the hole thing welded to the pan. It's no longer an issue.

And it cost next to nothing, plus the guy knocked a few of the dents out and painted for me!

I cut the rivets out, removed the block, cut a new gasket then permatex'd everything and nut and bolted it back together. used lock nuts and loctite...

The early Bronco V8 pan is unique to the EB chassis. It wasn't used on any other vehicle and it always had the dip stick in the pan. What pan are you using now?

With a permanent dipstick tube I'm not sure you could R&R the pan without removing the passenger side exhaust manifold. At least with my GT40P heads and stock Explorer manifold anyway.

If you have the 289 and the original oil pan, you probably have the older push-in dipstick in the oil pan . The later model pans have a threaded in dipstick that sealed better. If you have to change it out, you might as well get a later pan and go ahead and follow the suggestions above to seal the dipstick block and use some sealant on the threads of the screw in dipstick tube and your issue should be resolved without spending a fortune on a custom pan.

I posted these pictures on another thread. Before and after shots.
I ground the rivets off, cleaned off the cork gasket, and welded it up with my Hobart 140 mig welder. I been running it for a year now and zero leaks.

The easiest thing to do is drill out the rivets holding the block on the side of the pan and replace them with screws with steel self locking nuts (not the ones with the plastic insert). Look at the part # on the bottom of the pan. If it ends in BA look for a later pan. The ridges that contact the rubber seals are about .030" shorter on the BA pan than the later one I replaced it with. I have a late 72 302 that had a BA pan on it. I have a very late 72 that Ford put all the old crap on to get rid of it. I replaced it. I don't know what the suffix on the Ford part# is now but the suffix is later. AA suffix is the first version. As things are fixed the letters in the suffix change to something later in the alphabet.

1972 Mercruiser 888 I/O boat drives use a 302 with a Bronco pan. I owned one. There may be others. They leak around the dipstick mount also.

Obviously you had a better idea.
