Hey everyone...having grown up in the 4wd world, I have always loved the old school stuff. A few of us were talking about the old days a while ago and I got to thinking about a old school off road website...well, I have done it. It still needs a lot of work, but the basics are there. This is where you guys come in...I am looking for pictures of old school stuff...lets make the cutoff at anything before 2000. Post up pictues and stories in the forum or email them to me at wes.kibble@rogers.com and I will put them in the gallery. So, if you love desert dogs and terra tires, think that mullets are hip, wonder why anyone would use an electric winch instead of a pto winch and know for a fact that automatic hubs are for pansies, check out www.offroadaction.ca If you do not know what desert dogs, terra tires and a pto winch are, you definatly need to check the site out!

That is a great idea. Now I just need to scan my old photos. I think I've got some of James Garner racing at the original riverside race track.

I'll start digging.

Nice site, Wes. Good to see all the old school stuff. I love your shot of Rod's truck at the top of the home page - my favorite of all his Dodges.

Wes is a great guy and also a fellow EB fan.
We worked together a couple years back before he moved east...
his websites are usually pretty cool.

Glad to have you aboard here Wes, give me a shout at the shop sometime.
Drew.
p.s. Sonny retired about a year ago.... never see the old fart anymore!!

Thanks for the input guys...the site is still a work in progress, but I try to do a little bit each day. With your input and submissions it will only get better. If anybody is intersted in doing some articles, let me know.

Drew, it is good to see you again. I will have to pop in next time I am out west!

I just wanted to remind everyone to check out the old school site at www.offroadaction.ca ...I had to back off for a while during the racing season in the summer, but I am putting my time back into the site. Once again, feel free to post pictures in the forum or send them to me at weskibble@offroadaction.ca

BTW, I am a lurker here...I check out the site about once a week or so. I have not owned a Bronco in years, but I am still a fan...I have had 6 over the years...anybody know of any ones in decent shape in Ontario?

I was always partial to Armstrong Tru-Tracs myself as they worked good in the dunes but Terras did to. I got some old pics from out in the dunes and even my first Bronco restore that I did back in 1982........I look back at those pics and wonder....what the hell was I thinking when I converted to leafs in the front %)

1982 restore of my 71 bronco...leafs??????

Leafs....%) Oh the 80's...tall trucks was kewl no matter how it handled...lol...great pictures...thank you!!!

BTW, some of us are on the hunt for the oldest 4x4 club active or not active in Canada...so far the oldest we have the Lethbridge Coulee Kruzers that was formed in August 1966 and they are still going strong. Any Canadians know of an older club? How about you Amercians? Any of you or your family involved in some of the clubs from the 50's or 60's?

My grandfather and one of my great uncles were founding members of the Hemet Jeep Club (California). It was formed in 1948 and is rumored to be the first 4x4 club in existence. My dad was club president in 1964, followed by off-road racing legend Rod Hall in 1965. One of my cousins was president of the club in 1996. For whatever reason, Hemet has produced many of the household names in off-road motorsports.

Ironic. There's a band called BR549 that was on XM Radio's X-Country channel last night. I had to explain the reference to the wife; she was most amused. I can still see that fat man stammering out his lines... ;D ;D ;D
