Original Bronco 302 Sales Price

Found a 302 in a 74 Bronco, original everything, and running. Bronco is not drive able tho. What would be a fair price for this rig? 2bbl carb seems like it needs some tlc, but it cranks and runs. Question is, is the engine worth more being original? Guy wants $750 which seems steep, just wondering if it would be worth buying and at what price?

Sold my perfectly good running engine with 40 to 70 pounds of oil pressure for $175 without accessories. Basically a short block.

Original is "maybe" worth more, but ONLY to someone trying to do a restoration on a vehicle.
They're not exactly hard to find, as any engine of that vintage could be rightfully substituted without most people being able to tell if it originally came from a Bronco, a Falcon, or a Mustang.

Is it worth $750? Hell no! Dream on.
If it was an original Boss 302, that'd be a killer deal. But a garden variety 289/302 out of a truck? ONLY if you're looking to finish a high-dollar restoration project.

ALIMO (at least in my opinion) that is.

WOW! Really if body is fair $750 is good, even better with power steering. What makes it not driveable?

That's what I was thinking, may look at an explorer engine that will have less trouble with added compression, save a low end rebuild on the old motor. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't just being a tightwad

Sitting on blocks in rear, looks like they used it for parts on a different build. $750 for engine only. Said he would "cut me a deal" and threw out that price. I'll keep lookin at other options at that price. To me a 302 is a 302
