Outer Frame reinforcement for steering box

I purchased a steering box reinforcement plate for the inside of the from for my '76 a few years ago and had it welded in. Now I have noticed my frame cracking on the OUTSIDE of the frame around the steering box. Is there someone that makes this plate?? Will this mess up my steering any since it will set the steering box 1/4 inch or so off?
I haven't taken the steering box off yet to look at the damage but I realize I need to have someone weld up cracks before I can go any further.

Correct, BC Broncos has the brace to go on the outside of the frame for the steering box. It's usually used for a Coyote build to offset the steering box for additional clearance, but it should work great for just a reinforcement too.

My frame was in bad shape where the box bolts up. IT was crushed in so I bought two of the plates from BC Broncos and plated the inside and outside. Also welded in a gusset to the cross member. Has worked great for the last 8 years.

It comes with sleeves for inside the frame. .250 wall DOM tubing. Those replace the factory spreaders. That’s what gives the frame area strength. I drilled 1” holes on the back side of the frame to install them.

When I installed the plate on the inside of my frame it came with extra strength tubing and have already replaced the factory ones. I guees I had this crack on the outside and didn't notice it before or it was weak. Now after a year or so of turning '35s it finally gave up. Noticed a poping noise when turning every now and then.

I installed the BC kit and added plate to the other side of the frame.
