My title in the State of South Dakota had my 1968 ford Bronco listed at 4545lbs. Drove it to the junk yard and put it on the scale 3600lbs. Took the ticket back in, filled out an affidavid and sent it to the state. Saved me 20.00$ a year in tags now.

It almost stock. Small lift, uncut, 289, manual tranny, 285/70-17 tires on alum rims, stock bumpers.

Oh yea. 3600# with the dog and cooler of beer in it.

And yes most all the sheet metal is there:)

Are SD tags based on curb weight or GVW? I know growing up in KS that the plates were based on GVW. Load a little too much into the bed and go to the dump and hope you don't get the fat ticket for being over registered GVW. The original number looks like a GVW number.

Now if SD does registration based on curb weight, you should be good. I can't keep track of how all the states base the registration. They are all a little different. In AZ a 1-ton truck gets commercial plates no matter what.

sd tags

I live in SD my 66 roadster weight is 3335 lbs. I put 1966 plates on it and applied for historical status. it cost a one time registration fee of $10. I never have to pay an annual again. Before my plates were $55.70 each year

In Maryland its based on GVW. However, there is no "cost break" that I'm aware of in the range of GVW ratings EBs have; all the same.

They are 285/70-17 treadwright guard dogs on 2012 dodge rims. Threw em in the horizontal machining center and bored out the holes for the hubs. Need to do the rear ones and then turn a plug and machine a ford logo for the center caps.

2.5" of lift in the rear and front is still stock. 1" body lift. no rubing in rear and it hits the bump stops up front b4 anything else. I did have to trim the front bottom corners on front fenders.
