Painless wiring question

I'm installing a new painless harness and I have an ididit steering column with the gm style plug. Since the newer column has a hazard switch I'd like to bypass the dash mounted switch.

Do I run the 4 wires meant for the old switch to the appropriate wires on the new column?
Or does the old switch still need to be wired?

Thanks.

With an all-new replacement harness, I would think it's as simple as that. Just ignore the old switch and wire in the column and it should work. The harness is made to work with Broncos in either configuration, so it seems to me it does not know (or care) that you have a '69 rather than a '77.

Do the current instructions show how to wire a '74-'77 column? That should get it done.

The new harness comes wired for the dash mounted hazzard switch, and it also comes wired with the 8 pin plug and a pigtail with a separate wire for the column mounted hazzard switch.

I'm wondering if I can just bypass the dash mounted switch and just wire the gm style flat plug according to the instructions I found on the wild horses website.
I meant to call painless today but failed to do so. I'm going to put the dash back on tomorrow and continue getting everything else hooked up.

You have one additional avenue of information in that regard. Besides the usual experts here are like Viperwolf1 and BroncoBowsher we have Eric from painless who actually designed the harness.
Search Eric0o1(sp?) and send him either a PM or email. I know it's the weekend and he may not even be available because he's got some big projects going on, but on the off chance he's relaxing and checking his classic feeds you might get lucky with some info.
