I have a 5.5" suspension lift and I'm replacing it with a 2.5" from wild horses. Can I re-use the same pitman arm from the 5.5"?
Or is it too much drop for the 2.5"?
If I need a different one, which would work best? A stock arm, or one with a 3" drop?

Stock one works fine on a 2,5 but that's as high as i would go on a stock one.

Does the arm for the 5.5" lift have to much drop for a 2.5" lift?

We might have to see a pic of it to be sure, but most dropped pitman arms are the same height for the 3.5, as they are for the 5.5 or 2.5.

So you should be good to go under most circumstances.
What else might have been done to compensate for the tall lift? There could be other things you have to "un-do" for a 2.5, or not.

They're correct that you don't always "need" a dropped arm for your new lower lift, but if it's already there and you'd have to purchase a stock one from somewhere anyway, my first recommendation would be to continue to use the dropped arm and also the dropped trackbar bracket that is presumably installed?

And speaking of which, any chance you can shoot a pic of your complete steering linkage up front? Like from tie-rod end to tie-rod end, including the pitman arm, so we can see the angles and what you're working with.

Thanks

paul

First off, It's time for me to become a contributor! I've been wanting to post pics for a while now, and this will be a good time for that.

It looks to me like the lift consist of coils, 11 pack leafs, and an adjustable trac bar. It has extended brake lines, and of course the drop pitman arm. The 5.5" lift is brand new. The coils are by Deaver, and it has new sky jacker shocks all around. Not sure if the leafs are deavers. It's just too much lift.
I plan to sell the 5.5" lift.

I'll post pics soon.
