Has anyone had success with having a steering box rebuilt? I read of somewhere in Texas to send one but don't know where? What to change to power in my '75.

I rebuilt my own. It works fine and doesn't leak all the fluid onto the ground in one day anymore. It's not hard to do if you can find the rebuild kit.

I have the box already. Might try it myself but never did one before. Thanks for all the help.

The best way to learn is to do it yourself. I never did one before I did mine either. I've got some good tech info if you need help and I'm sure a lot of others can help too.

If all you need is the box resealed then yes the kits are good for that and I was always able get a kit even in the old days at any good auto parts store.
Now if your box has play in it your better off getting it rebuilt by WTO or any steering box rebuilder as they will have the correct sized ball bearings for the worm gear which I have tried to find for a long time without success.

Try finding one in 1993

You've got the dial in the wrong place...set it to 2008 before you push the go button.....and whatever you do, don't open the door until you're sure what year you've got the machine set on. Yours is probably an early prototype before they went digital;D

Definitely analog! The bronco's gauge bounces too much and it's a little scary when I get it up to 88 mph.

I had my box rebuilt by WTO, in addition to a 3.25 turn conversion. They performed good quality work. However, I would probably opt for a 4 turn box rather than a 3.25 turn, if I were to do it again.

Best of luck

Hands down the finest box rebuild you'll ever see. Good folks, and competitively priced.

This is the ALL NEW steering box (made from all new components) for the EB that they released a little while back. It's indicative of their quality of work. You can also see a few pics of their work in the buildup link in my signature for the goodies going into the Doodlebug.
