I cant not locate the wires and the connector from the Electrical harness which connect to the post on the back side of my Cigar Lighter..

Question- can I run a wire from the Ignition switch post on its back side to the Cigar Lighter to give it power??

No reason you can't, but I would suggest putting an inline fuse to protect the circuit.
I don't remember if the 66/67 lighters pulled from the headlight switch like 68+ or not...

Anyone have a picture of the power supply wires and it’s connector that attaches to the Cigar Lighter on a 68 bronco??? The schematics show they are Red with a white stripe wire with a Blue with white stripe wire going into 1 connector which attaches to the Lighter... I can’t find this 2 wire combo coming off my electric harness anywhere .. thanks..

Isn't it just a single Blue/White wire? The housing grounds itself to the dash.

What color comes out of the fuse box? I’m going out to take a look at the schematic on mine.

Yours may not have had the cigar lighter option then.
Normally a vehicle gets the same harness, including most of the wires for optional accessories. But for all we know Broncos got the harness that best fit the build. Meaning no radio or cigar lighter wires at all.
Most of our (at least later model) EB's came with stuff like dome light wires, under-dash map light wires, radio wires and such, but maybe the '66 through '68's did not always?
Can't tell you from my '68 because it's got all new aftermarket wiring harness in it. So no help there.

And of course, the Chilton's wiring diagrams for the '66 to '70 models don't even show a cigar lighter!

However, starting in '72 we see the single Blue w/white wire that feeds the lighter. But at the fuse panel you're looking for a Green w/yellow wire instead.
First the power comes from the fuse panel via the Green w/yellow wire over to the headlight switch, where it is spliced to the Blue w/white wire and then down to the lighter.
It appears that the lighter is not actually powered through the headlight switch, as much as it simply shares a feed from the fuse panel to the dome light/map light circuit.

If yours is the same, then look for a Green w/yellow from the fuse box, then check it out up at the headlight switch.
In lieu of those, just run your wire from the ignition switch. The disadvantage of this is that you need the key in ON or ACC for the lighter to work. Not a deal-breaker perhaps, but not as convenient as it being powered all the time.

blue white green yellow
But for your original wire,

Cool diagram triracer, thanks!
Is that from a '67 specific Ford book? I like the detail.
I wonder when they changed to the later style in my diagram? Maybe in '68 like House was saying his is.

Is yours just like the diagram then? With it's own inline fuse holder and wire straight from the key?
Where is it tied into the back of the ignition switch? Don't happen to have taken pics the last time you were under there, did you?;)

Thanks

Paul

My assumption is that they pulled off of the ignition switch prior to the headlight
switch moving to the right of the column in '68.
This diagram kind of confirms that if we can find some nice original trucks to verify.

Makes sense.
Sorry I did not take more of a close look and copious notes and pics of my friend's early '66 with literally no fuse panel and no visible hacks done. Only inline fuses in several locations.
But the reason I got the chance to see it was mostly because he was replacing the harness in the first place!

Oh well... Not many original copies of the early models by this time I reckon.

I had no Blue and white wire coming off the light switch which should go straight to the Cigar Lighter. Here is schematic from my 1967 Bronco Shop manual.. It shows that a blue and white wire should leave Cigar Lighter and head to the fuse box. Nothing here about running through the light or ignition switches.

BTW here's a photo of the manual

Here's the a picture of the 1967 Bronco from the manual.. Showing the blue with white stripe wire running between the fuse box and the cigar lighter.. I need to run a new one.

I don't need it to function as a Cigar lighter, I just want power to it so I cam put in a USB port to charge stuff.

Also, here's a diagram of the '67 Brono. Fuse box with fuses and what wires head to what.
