I think Navistar and Ford should have given up on the V8 diesel thing a long time ago and just built an inline six instead. I will always be a Cummins fan. In my opinion, Diesel engines should never be V8's. They just don't seem to last very well.

I know its only one account, but I've got a '90 F-250 with the 7.3 NA motor and its got 350+K on it and it has never had a wrench on the motor. Still cranks and runs like a champ everytime I get in it.

I'm still trying to figure out why 1/2 ton trucks need to have diesels. You won't save that much weight over just buying a 3/4 ton. So yeah the 1/2 ton with a V8 cummins might get a few miles per gallon better than the gas V8's, maybe even better than a real Cummins. But the lighter weight truck will be almost as heavy, and every bit as expensive. And when the new owners of those trucks decide that they need to tow with them, the smaller drivetrain will be the weak point. I know that there are V8 diesels out there with lots of miles on them. But I've gotta say I kinda like the saying "6 in a row make 'em go" Not to mention I have seen people just downright abuse inline six diesels and they just keep kickin'

Very nice build, but you are kinda shooting yourself in the foot here...you have set the bar so high and we have come to expect nothing less than FREAKIN AWESOME from you....

And what's so wrong about the 4bt? why use 8 cylinders when 4 will do?

As both an Early Bronco owner and an engineer at the International Plant that built his Powerstroke engine I'd like to say....cool.

I need to see more photos though. Plus one youtube link was dead.

Can someone send me photos? Folks in our department would kill to see this, especially since most of us are gear heads and like Broncos since I own a few....
