Priming Oil pump question

Getting my new engine ready to fire up so filled her up with 10w-30w oil and breakin additive. Priming pump with 1/2" drill and getting 80psi on mechanical gauge. I've done this before, but never noticed the oil pressure before. Of course it's the first time I've temporary mounted my gauges under the hood so I could watch everything. Is this normal? I didn't think just a drill would make that much pressure.

Sounds ok to me. 400 rpm drill speed is the same as 800 rpm crankshaft speed.

And remember..well over half of the oil 'consumers' are the roating journal bearings on cam and crank. They aren't rotating..they aren't consuming much...so its easy to build oil pressure when primming.

Bracket Master II , 284/284 218@.050,.488 lift. Picked this engine up with a V8 Ranger project I abandoned, so figured I'd put it in and see how she runs.
