This has been a real head scratcher. I have read multiple posts on this topic about the most common issues with sticking drum brakes.
All new parts for rear brakes including drums and hardware. The first set of Raybestos wheel cylinders seemed to have sticky rubber piston cups almost like they were too big for the bores so replaced them with some NAPA cylinders and these seemed to slide much easier inside the bores even though they looked like identical parts. The drum shoes are lubed on their sliders with no groves on backing plates. The brakes work great for a good 10 miles or so and then I notice the drag start and the rear wheels getting hot.
The rubber rear brake line is new. The parking brake is operational and adjusted. Could there be a partial clog in the metal lines? The brakes bleed fine. Maybe a faulty master cylinder?
Any thoughts on this are appreciated.
