Well, working on this cage outside in stupid humid 90+ weather has kicked my ass, but here is the progress I have made over the last 2 Saturdays. Probably 2 more and I'll be done. I still need to make my seat mounts, gussets, spreaders, etc.

I really like the look of it with the windshield down. Does anyone have a clever way to make the windshield easily removable and attachable? I was thinking 2 hinges on each corner with a easily removable pins.

Here are a few more pictures of the cage from yesterday. We're working on the front/rear seat mounts and still have the top spreader bars/gussets to go.

With the seatbelt mounts and spreader bars, I'm thinking of taking the diagonal spreader between the b-c pillars and making them horizontal just under the body line. Since I'm putting a back seat in, I think this is the only way someone could get in and out. Thoughts?

I made the cage to fit under a hard top. It fits within about an 1/8" from the top crossmembers. Yep, those are pitbulls on allieds.....I'll let you know how they are once I actually get it back out.

Smoked, Looking great. When are you wheeling again?
Your 302 is running great in my 66.

Glad the 302 is working!!! I haven't been out since my little fuel fire in November, but I'm getting close! Once this cage is done, I'm headed out to Moab....not looking forward to the diesel bill, but oh well. I'd like to head back to Harlan or Tellico still this year....is there anything good over your way?

Not close, I do have some utility line right of ways by me that cut through a forest and over some creeks and hills. Pretty fun for short jaunts. I was thinking of a trip to Wellsville Oh.

WOW, Thats some good work on the cage. You could take a serious roll over with relative ease. You know you have to tie it into the frame from under the tub now. Looks great, Are you painting it or powder coating?

Yep, still have to tie it into the frame....that will be in the future. I'm just gonna spraybomb it since its gonna get scrached up.
