After several hrs of sanding and filling fiber glass finally primed the hood. All of the bronco is now in primer. We started seam sealing the tub but ran out of sealer. Tons of blocking to go, hope to roll into the paint both on Friday.
Thanks everyone for the support and motivation. I'm doing taxes today and I'll find out if I can buy some big ticket items. Wire harness, vintage air, interior, ya all the fun stuff.
Looks good, question on the seam sealer. Do you just lay the bead down or do you smear it in with your finger like you would around window trim or baseboard?
So the seams under truck and in unnoticeable places we laid the seam seal down went behind with a small brush now the important (noticeable) areas we evenly masked then filled. These ones we smothed with finger . The sealer we used dries in like 15 min so be sure to remove tape before its to late.
Got all blocking done. Pre-fit all parts one last time for final adjustments. Very happy how everything fits. Bonded fiberglass hood prop supports on so they will be painted same as truck. Very little to do on Friday, will have it on the trailer ready for early Saturday.
I've got lots to post tonight. I'll keep it in chronological order. Rewind to last nights order of business. Paint hood cowl, ford letters on tailgate and grill insert and load tub on trailer.
Bright and early this morning finished loading parts and headed to the booth. Hours of prep this morning. Cleaning, wax and grease removal then tac off all. Here are some pics of that process.
Finally PAINT !!! Ya.... Went with Centari single stage. Period correct, even for this exact tub. Aqua Reef code Y and Period correct white. Looks bad ASS.
