LOL ya it's going to stay krylon khaki. Everything else will be black. Going to get some soft 8's, having the cage done in a couple weeks (can't wait!!) and I'll finish up the front/rear bumpers then also.

Na, to damn cold!! I did get some work done to the fuel tank, I'm building a fuel cell that goes right behind the bulkhead. 55wX14deep at the bottom and 7" at the top. The angle matches the angle of the bulkhead. I'm hoping to have the tank welded up by the end of the week. I'll try to get some pics up soon!

Haven't got alot done lately, been to dam cold!! Tueasday morning it's supposed to be 20 degrees!! Um....my zip is in florida, that's just not right!!

I did get the ps pump on and FINALLY got it bled. The trick? Take the drag link off so the box has full range of motion and can get all the hidden air out.

Also got the cell welded up, tonight I need to do some cleaning of the welds and fill her with water and see how many leaks I have, anyone care to take a guess? lol
Picking up 10 sticks of 1 3/4 .120 wall dom tubing friday, cage will go in on monday, can't wait!! Bumpers will come together very soon after.

Pics up soon!!

I like how fast you transformed your rig, it looks great and a bit more practical now, I'm sure you'll make it better yet. 20 degrees in florida?:?

I never realized how much taller the front of the camper is than the back. What was it - about 1/2"? And I'm surprised the exhaust doesn't melt the flare. I like the diamonds on the frame cuts. Did you abandon the side windows, or are they just on hold? And did you say you're welding up the liftgate? I thought that was one of the good things about your halfcab - the openable rear window.

Anyway, it's an incredible (& incredibly FAST) build! Keep it up.

Ya, it's about 3/4 of an inch taller, the radius is real similar, little diff on the corners. The exhaust is actually a ways away from the flare, prob 2" and it doesn't touch the body so there's no transfer heat. The side windows are going to be cut back into it once I find a glass co willing to make me some flush fits. I'm going to weld in the 1/2 angle iron frame once I have the glass them have them installed once I get the bodywork/paint done on the top. That's the next priority once the cage gets done, as there is a HUGE blind spot. I fully welded the lift gate, I wanted to keep it but it rattled like you wouldn't believe and my fuel tank is right behind it so in the interest of safety and sanity she's welded shut forever.

I meant the actual exhaust - not the tip of the pipe. The exhaust gasses coming out of the pipe are still hot, and blow along the body there, across the plastic flares. I'm surprised the flares can take that heat.
