You won’t notice the travel loss and your investment will live a long happy life.

I’m being lazy this morning and didn’t go back and read….. Were you planning a rear sway bar? Doesn’t need much, a Cury Antirock is more than sufficient, doesn’t take much but makes the handling so much better. Makes those vertical climbs and off camber so much better. A very worth while investment in dollars and time. It makes such a difference I won’t do a rear coil over set up without one.

I am going to run the Duff one which I’m pretty sure is just a Currie one.

Alright, now the rear is complete. #dufftuff swaybar installed.
Also raised the engine 1.5” to create more room for the links in the front and tuck in my hangy down bits. Stock hood still closes.

When installing "new" limit straps plan for them to stretch. On our race car the new 12" long (eye to eye) Mckenzie's straps gained one inch in length. Rule of thumb, my estimate would be 8 to 10% on a new strap.

I liked using the nylon limit straps because it gives a cushioned extension stop, not a hard metallic stop.

Thanks John. I had heard @1” of stretch per foot, does that sound about right?

depends on who's straps, some are that much but others can be very minimal. You can get them from 2 layers up to 6, and of varying quality of materials. I'd ask whoever you purchase the straps from their recommendation.

Interesting, do you have any recommendations for strap manufacturers?

I don't have a preference, I've used a bunch of different ones, they all work. If there is a vendor you are comfortable with that is who I would use. Most commonly I've used PRP, Poly Performance, Trail Gear and I'm sure a few few more, had good success with all of them.

For a single ply strap, that would be a good rule of thumb. After the initial stretch, they seem to stay the same length forever. I guess my point is, just plan for the initial stretch when you make your order. McKenzie's is close to us in So Cal, so that's our go to place for race parts. I'm sure other brands are just as good.

Front axle getting ready for a truss and making room for a few more inches in the front.

looks like about an 1" on moving the steering box forward (right)? is that going to be enough? I wonder what the driveshaft angle will be and any clearance issues....Wait, you have a doubler now too right? Sticking with the np435?

That doubler should push you back a little now too so that will help on geometry of things a little too.

It’s currently sitting at 1 1/2” forward. I need to pull the grille so I can cut the remainder of the inner radiator support so I can get the steering just in front of the cross member.
I’m running an AX-15 instead. I decided that the 218:1 Low Low was just less exciting than having an under drive and 125:1
Pushing the front axle forward will help the driveshaft angle immensely, although that front axle already has a much better pinion angle to caster angle set up than the stock 44 ever did.

I just got the front 609 truss altered and welded up. There was a pretty significant shave to the axle and I was able to get the integrated pinion guard sucked up pretty tight.

Looking good. I would suggest welding i bung or something around the little Allen screw / drain plug. I have one with the same Allen drain plug that is at the point that I can't get an Allen in the plug because it has rock rash.

Not sure I'm making sense but if not let me know

The skid plate sits over the bung and I even have a hole that allows draining while the skid plate is in place.
