Stumbled across a 408w stroker motor out of a 66' f100 that never got ran. Seller decided to go coyote 5.0 instead.

Tore the 408 stroker down to check the sellers work. Had to send the rotating assembly out to get balanced! good thing we took it apart.

Changed out the cam to something a little more aggressive. Added the Pro Flo 4 fuel injection ontop.

picked up a really nice original rust free, straight tailgate to replace the beat up one in the 4th pic. new gate will get stripped, and faux patina'd to match the rest of the rig.

Test fitting Speed Gems 2" adapter (at the time, likely the first mock-up in an early bronco! January 1st 2022). Barely misses the firewall. No modifications needed.

Gap between 6r80 and adapter ...... foreshadowing issues to come....

As seen in post #11 underneath the bronco.... I made a 3D exact size replica of an atlas 2 transfer case to use for mock-up. Though this was a fun winter indoor project, I never fully utilized my efforts. I continued to wait for the real thing from Advanced Adapters for mock-up

First time in a long time that I’ve seen someone change, an E303 for a cam that’s even more aggressive!
Even though it’s not a race cam necessarily, that E303 was one of those that most bronco owners regretted, because the idle was too choppy, and the performance was out of the power range they desired.
In your case though, with more cubic inches and EFI you can probably do a lot of tuning to the fuel injection system to get it where you want to go.

Which cam did you go with exactly?

E303 is aggressive? At least for a 408w, I thought a E303 was going to be a dog. I still have the E303 if anybody wants to buy it.

I went with a xe258hr

After a 9 month wait (advertised as a 4 month wait....), I finally received my Atlas 2 transfer case. It is a Pro Case with 3.0:1 super finished gear set.

Upon install/mock-up, I realized they installed the wrong input shaft (23 spline, needed 31 spline). So I shipped it back to AA and another month later it arrived with the right input shaft.

I am just realizing I will have to add sport trim to my "new-to-me" tailgate. Doesn't look like too big of a job, but I am not sure how the push-in rivet clips will work?

video on removing trim:
