Hello all!

I took my hard doors off a few months ago.

I have created somewhat of a "birds-nest" and need to get my doors working properly.

I pulled the hinges apart and drilled them out to accept 5/16 bolts.

I need advice on how to line the hinges up properly!%)

Can someone advise me as to how to properly!? ;D

Thanks in advance for any help!

What do you mean to get them lined up properly? I did the same thing and mine bolted back up fine?

It's a two person job.

Put the hinges on the door, both parts of the hinge, hold the door up to the body, put the bolts in that hold the hinge to the door post, tight but not snug, shut the door easily, check the gaps, open the door, adjust if needed, snug down bolts, done!

.....Hmm ok then I need to revisit it when I get home tonight! I was in a hurry to "just get them on" before having to leave for the evening last night.

I split the hinges and left one half on the body and one half on the door.

I am not sure what I have done but the drivers side will not close and I am not about to slam it shut just to get it to close. heh-heh.

Tonight I will "DEAL" with it. I am sure once I do it one time I will not have any future problems. This was the 1st time I "split the hinges" and took the doors off...so I am sure once I do this the will slap on and off with no issues. It was just this "adjusting" process that has me in a pickle..i was looking for tips so I do not spend 4 hours adjusting doors! heh-heh ;D

if you take your striker off the rear door post, and start you gap aliignment from the quarter panel and work your way to the fender it should make it easier. Door alignment is always a beast in my op, good luck

I used some zip-ties to hold my hinges as one piece while I aligned them it seemed to help.;D you will be fine just takes time to get it right, i also used some wooden door shims to help get the gap right. no worries

Well they are on and are working and should "pop right back on" the next time I switch the doors out.

Are they working perfect like before? I am not sure!!?? %)

But they close solid and don't rattle! I do wish I did not have to shut them with as much force as I need to. They seemed to close a little easier before but then it has been since about April that I had them on last.....hopefully I am just thinking they closed better...I think it's because I am OLD! heh-heh;D

I feel like I am driving a luxury car! heh-heh I told my wife it was all cozy now! ha-ha....I like doors...for about 5 months out of the year!...gotta love these trucks!;) ..and So. Calif!:D
