I ran mine without padding once and I got a squeaking metal rubbing sound. It was irritating.

I've been looking for my old hardtop seals and the bolts for the front(windshield/hardtop).....can't find em. Are there pics somewhere of the seals? I remember what the side ones look like, but the windshield one I can't remember. Also, what size are the bolts for the hardtop/windshield connection?

Hmmm, where is that diagram I made once......
Ahh, here it is. Shows a riser for the soft top but the gasket is the same.
Bolts should be 5/16-18 x 1" or so.
JBG has the seals.

instead of spending $100+ on the weather stripping, do what i did. Go to home depot and buy a shower pan mat. you can get it as long as you want. then cut it into strips. been doing that for 3 years now. i think it comes 3 feet wide, so you can just throw aways last years stuff and still have plenty

You can use just about any type of squishy rubber if you cut it into long strips. The only problem I've seen is where the gasket material was too thick and caused a leak at the top of the door.
