Question about dual Magnaflows?

I am looking to replace my current exhaust because it is a little too loud for my taste and I want to tone it down but still keep a nice rumble to it. Currently I have a dual exhaust with long tube headers and glass packs which exit on both sides in front of the rear tires. After doing a little research I decided to replace the glass packs with dual magnaflows and exit them behind the rear tires. The only problem I have is I don't know which mufflers to get? Does anybody know what the difference is between them all? I am pretty sure the XL mufflers with the 3 chambers are the quietest is that right? Are the oval mufflers quieter than the round ones? And do you guys think the larger 18" case mufflers will fit under the bronco?

I have dual Magnaflows on my 74, I believe they are 14"X round and they sound pretty good but are fairly loud.

magnaflows will be quiet at first, but will get a bit louder as they break in. i have a 3" system on mine with a 24" magnaflow, it's real nice. while cruising it's mellow, and roars pretty good when i get on it.

You know they have flowmasters that are almost the same as the magnaflows. I had my flows put in and they are great, as someone already said they have a good hum but only get loud when you really step on it. as far as i know the more chambers the quieter. I would have to say flows are the best.

Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure. If you looking to quiet it down a bit you would want the oval ones. I have round ones, Mangnaflow MagnaPacks, on my Mustang and they are not quiet.

Here's a quote off Magnaflows website "(* Magnapack system utilizes a round style muffler to produce a more aggressive tone.)"

I just put on a pair of dual 24" oval Magnaflows. They sound really nice but will bark a bit when hammered. Some have quieted them down a bit with an "H" pipe but then it looses that nice true dual rumble and sounds like just a big single pipe.

When you guys say you have 24" long mufflers, do mean the muffler case is 24" long or do you mean the out to out including the flanges. Just wondering.

I well I got a set of Magnaflows off Ebay last night cheap. I only paid $60 ea. with free shipping. I went with the the 5"x8"x18" mufflers. Just for future reference, I called Magnaflow and they said there XL Performance mufflers were similar to flowmasters with the chamber design, but they are also louder than there regular series mufflers. So that's why I went with there regular series.

I have Dyna-Max Mini-Turbos on 2-1/4" pipes that sounded great new but are now too loud after ~5K miles.
