Finishing the 98 explorer efi swap, already tried the 4.0 explorer radiator and it doesn't work. I have a inboard mounted steering box that interfers significantly. Has anyone had luck with finding another option?

You're time may be better spent looking for different steering box.

I have a fairly new aluminum radiator from Duff. The inlets were backwards, so i had a local radiator shop plug the holes and weld some new connectors. Not sure if your old radiator can be swapped.

I wouldn't use the tranny cooler in that rad now.

There's nothing wrong with the stock Bronco radiator with a 5.0. You just need a crossover pipe for the lower hose. Why reinvent the wheel?

the lower is not a big problem, its the upper that would be much easier if it went to the passenger side. Might have found one on ebay. worth a try for now.

The upper isn't an issue with the stock radiator either. You can either use the GTO hose that routes around the P/S pump or the upper from a '98 Crown Vic 4.6L (gates 22392). The only issue I had with the upper was the hood was hitting it until I installed a 1" body lift, which I believe you need for the explorer EFI to fit anyway. The lower hose from a 2002 7.3L F-250 (gates 22690) crosses back over and fits with some trimming.

That's great info, I'll get them tomorrow. Thanks a lot!

or this....using a 20" starting collar.
I will have to trim it down just a bit more and paint it. Images without it can be seen on my Garage
