Rag joint

Is there a rag joint for the steering that is better than any others? I have used dorman universal ones but wonder if perhaps a poly one is available or a complete joint. Thanks

Dont know of any urethane options. Depending on what steering shaft you have switching from a rag joint to a u-joint can cause more vibration at the steering wheel.

It’s best to run U-joints, upper and lower if you’re running bigger tires that challenge your PS system, especially when aired down. Those rag joints tend to fail at the worst times.

U joints, then a regular rag joint, they have held up for me.

I would think urethane would break down and crumble due to the heat of the engine in time of course. I’m sure one could be designed with better quality urethane but then it would cost a lot.

Urethane doesn't flex enough, and when forced to flex it cracks and breaks. Stick with rubber, or u joints with a slip shaft for safety
