You may want to check out the PSC Ram Assist install guide.

John, I see what you are saying. No mention of that in the WTO installation guide. If there is no binding - mine has plenty of unrestricted movement - I'm not sure how critical having the heims in the same plane is. My main concern was getting a double shear mount on the fixed side of the ram.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I know what you mean. I struggled with it as well. It looks like both ways can work as long as the ram does not have to move too much. I am sure like me, you spent a lot of time looking at it before tacking it.

Yes, I did! My original plan was to use a bolt on clamp as discussed early in this thread. I could not find one for the size tie rod I have - 1 1/8". Smallest I could find is inch and a quarter. Using one of these would allow me to align the helm planes. If I go to a bigger tie rod I may do this. I searched for ram installation pics and a lot of them had the heims at 90 degrees.

I've bled the system. All seems to be working well. I haven't driven it yet.

Very nice. Exact same way I'm doing mine--even down to the WH riser bracket. I'm glad you posted pics as the only way I could see to mount the fixed end to the riser bracket was on the front of it which looked tight. Mounting it off the side of the riser bracket is way better.

Thanks!

I trimmed each tab to fit into the 45 degree bend of the WH riser. The bottom one is just above the WH logo cut out.

OK, just about have this wrapped up - just in time for LEBC's Fall at the Falls event this next week end! I've got the dash all put back together.

The ram is complete. I did a test drive and it works great. It'll get tested on the trail this weekend. I did need to the adjust the hoses and fittings a bit for clearance with the track bar. It looks good now but I'll need to stuff the front driver's tire to make sure.

Also I added a switched 12V outlet in the rear to power a Viair compressor.

Right now it has a lighted USB plug in it just so I can tell when it has power. I have a few more items to finish up - the heater blower, ducts and controls need to be hooked up but that can wait until after the Fall at the Falls event. Also I need to finish up the braiding. I did do the braiding in the engine compartment before I put the fenders and grill back on.

But that's it for this thread. I will report back after the weekend and say how the ram worked. Thanks for viewing.

I thought when a guy gets down with something like this, he's supposed to rattle-can-black everything under the truck??

Here's my follow-up report. The ram worked awesome! It's a bit "slower" turning when just driving it which I had been warned about but I was not not sure what that meant. I understand now. Not an issue, just a different feel. But on the rocks it rocked! Before the ram I would use the front ARB to get through a tough spot and immediately know to turn it off when through the area because it would be hard to turn. Not so now - several times I forgot to turn it off because the steering was so easy. I encountered no clearance issues. Great upgrade!

The new harness worked well also. It ran great (best its ever run??) and everything worked fine. No issues until wheeling on Sunday morning when the tach stopped working and the volt meter started jumping. I need to look for a loose connection or ground.
