Funny thing is, both Jeep and Scout had larger rear wheel openings at the time Ford was designing the Bronco. The "designers" probably over-road the "engineers" in order to keep the "style" of the Bronco consistent with F100 rear wheel well design.

The really funny thing is that Ford changed the body style of the F100 to one with larger rear wheel openings the next year.

I foget what vendors but a few yrs ago some of them offered the quarter panels already flared.

I think I remember a thread a year or two ago about a rumor that Dennis Carpenter (maybe?) was going to make those, but no production has been seen.

Seems like it was JBG? Or could have been Build-A-Bronco.

JBG offered them for a bit $699 each.......

DC had them at the super celebration in 16 and even had them listed on their site as coming soon but then they disappeared and no one at DC will return my emails about them.

Build a Bronco will make you some. I contacted them and they said sure....$500 each as I recall.

I'm still hoping to do my own but was holding out hope DC would get production rolling

I like having a flexible flare. I have rubbed on mine a few times with a tree branch or trunk and of course my WH G'Flares just flex out of the way and leave ner a scratch.
But if I had steel flares that would be scratched and perhaps bent by now.
I will stick with my flexy flares. Having said that I do still love a Lubr.

/\/\ That +1
Plus the Gorilla Warflares are a bit wider to better cover wider tires.

I do like the look of the steel though.

Not original paint or stripes. A quick look at the inside of the lower quarter will show show how it was modified. Grafting the front metal flares to the rear still requires hand forming a missing component on the front of the opening.
This could be one of the recent formed fenders but then it wouldn't be vintage or dealer installed. Someone is not telling the truth to your friend.

Carpenter has the rear quarters in their new catalog I got a couple of weeks ago. I called them and the lady put me through to one of the parts guys. They are slated to be released about nov. they have just about got the tweeking done on the stamp. He looked to see if a price had been set and it had. He said that was a good sign because that meant that no other changes would have to be made to the stamp because if they did have to change it that would prob increase initial price. They are 375.00 each. Would have been worth it for me as I would not have to buy a complete set of flares and cut all 4 openings. Also I was buying new rear quarters at 80+ dollars each anyway.... But I can't wait that long on my sons for those so I will use them on the next one.
