Many of us know that 1966 Broncos have numerous parts that are unique to that year. I am looking for opinions on the top 5 rarest original 1966 Bronco parts.

What do you think they are?

And the #1 spot belongs to.......... an original owner
I have met many Bronco owners but never an original owner of a 66.

Still looking for comments on the most hard to find parts that are unique to 66 Broncos. I'll give one vote for original fiberglass door inserts for a U13 Bronco. I know there were some 67 and 68 U13s.

I couldn't find a fomoco carb! Napa got me two and they both had too big of a throttle butterfly.
Finally sent mine to So.Cal and had it gone thru.

Exhaust pipe heat shield installed on only CA equipped smog pumped 66s, the heat shield is located between the exhaust pipe and gas tank, never seen it on any other bronco. Heck, I'll even add the smog pump setup required only in California for only the 66.

Six cyl carb, very unique throttle attachment compared to other vehicles, the arm is 180 out to other six cyl carbs of that era.

Front locking hub set. Working.

That and the VIN plate on the driver kick panel.

What napa sold you was a carb for a 200 or 250 CID 6 cyl, little 170 is unique.

I have a factory exhaust heat shield that was mounted on mine. It mounted on the frame to keep the tail pipe heat away on the gas tank. I have it stored in a box somewhere. I know that it was in perfect condition. I removed it when I installed a 32 gallon tank and new exhaust.

Headlight

How about original working FORD headlights with the ford logo etched on them.

You mean this Mike? Only original one I have and it still works! The lens even has small pitting from years of service. tim

Valve Cover Retainer Clip

I found only two of these. One came off a donated motor I have and the other on the white roadster which was removed from it's intended place and laid on the intake for many years. An extremely hard passenger side part to find as once the hard lines were removed to service the engine, most were never put back on. Oh yea, they are easy to brake as well!

Not Parts But Marks

For the heck of it, a survivor kick panel grease pencil marking just amazes me after all these years!

And the back side of the roadster inserts with the old rubber stamp date.

Also, FoMoCo ink stamp at the bottom of original roadster soft doors. Yes I am a '66 geek!

Yes, this is exactly what I'm talking about. After thinking about I wonder if this is not unique to 66. This may be an original part that Ford produced on all early Bronco. Does anyone know?
