I have a '76 half cab. Its not an original half cab...actually there is nothing much more 'original' on the ol' girl. During the summer I run a bikini top, and occasionally there will be more than one person that wants to go for a ride. I want to install something simple and 'rather' easy to take in and out for the seasons...nothing cloth because it will get rained on occasionally. ALSO, I was thinking of turning the seat facing towards the rear. Since I do have a bulkhead in the way, I would think this would give the people in the back a little more leg room...has anyone done this or maybe some pics of something Im looking for??..Thanks again

i ve been thinking of doing this for the ease of letting my dogs get in and out. with headrests limiting the seat tilt and a console, they cant just get in the front and crawl in the back so it seems to be a good compromise. if i do it im going to mount it as far forward as i can so there is plenty of room back there. i have seen pics but dont have any to show

Sure, turn the seat around. Use what look like hood pins and clips instead of bolts to install rear seat and take out quickly. Great for dogs and kids too if the seat is needed. Quick and easy.

I flip mine around when going to an event where there are awards or spectator stuff and Sunset watching and places it's nice to be outside of the driver compartment for a better view.

I use to turn the seat around when going to the Drive in to watch a movie. For you younger fellers a Drive In was a lot with a bunch of bumps in it. At one end was a big screen where they projected movies to watch. You paid money to park on one of those bumps aimed at the big screen. This was a time when you were lucky if your tv at home had a screen that measured 18" and was black and white. The speakers were lousy and people even went there in the rain but they didn't watch much of the movie since the car windows were always fogged up.

Done for my dog Ben to get in and out easily and hang over the driver's shoulder but it's actually pretty comfortable. Those with long legs end up with their feet over the tailgate. On steep stuff, us shorties can stand on the tailgate! Anyone who's been with me on the trail, knows I share the driver seat plenty, so I've spent time relaxing in it on many occasion! We installed it with a rake so you naturally recline and the back of the front seats work as a headrest. Makes a nice spot for our small cooler and tool bags across the back too. Shhh... Slight derail -
I current run around with no back seat. I have thought about having one mounted sideways (possibly folding) similar to the old rovers.

Thanks, I have searched for them but nothing local. The Brat seats was my first thought when I wanted them facing the rear, but like someone explained on here I'm thinking of just getting a aftermarket rear seat and have it so I can have them going forward or backwards.....just thinking out loud...Really don't want to spend $300 on some seat that is going to see a lot of rain and sun....I am in Florida ya know...;D
