I have done several NP435 transmissions successfully, how does tearing down a ZF5 compare?
Also what are common wear items in a ZF5 other than bearings?
It feels like it has some slop, when the detroit locker locks\unlocks I can hear and feel it rattle thru the trans.
Originally from a 1993 F350 4x4 460.
thanks,,,

2nd -3rd syncro and reverse is ALWAYS a problem.
Make sure that your mainshaft endplay is nice and tight, the case stretches a little.
Find a service manual, it will be money well spent........
