After just adding a fuel regulator and psi gauge plus changing the routing of the fuel lines from the front of the hard line under the hood up to the carb I had an issue driving today where the Bronco wasent holding fuel pressure and would stall out. After checking a few things I pulled the filter of between the steel tank and electric fuel pump only no notice the filter was all packed up with silicon strips. Im going to drop the tank tomorrow and hopefully see if you can get access to the inside. I can tell if the oversized is homemade or not? Only thing I can think of is the PO made it and put a bead of silicone along the welds for some dumb reason.

The questions I have is while im hear do you guys think I should go back to a Mechanical Fuel Pump (Edelbrock #1725) or should I stay with the Mr Gasket Electric pump that is already on it? What is everyone out there running?

Thanks as always and hope your not getting frustrated with all the help ive been asking for.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

On a carbed engine I think a mechanical pump is more durable.

Do you have any plans to go EFI? If so, I would keep the electric pump setup as you'll need that foundation in place for fuel injection....

I have only ever owned one rig with a carb and an electric fuel pump and I had problems with it. I have owned a bunch with a mechanical pump and as I sit here I can't recall ever replacing one. My .02

The electric pump is just inline from fuel tank to carb. When I bought the truck to Po gave me a second one. Almost makes me think like its been a problem in the past.

Big Jim, Thanks for the reply. You seem to have the same feeling that I was thinking.

Guess ill wait to see what a few others say and then make a decision from there.
