Well im underway building my 68 and i am wondering what are the recommendations for lift and tire size to enjoy Katemcy rocks in Mason Tx? Im not looking to build a rock crawler and would probly do the easy to moderate trails. Any opinions would be appreciated. I was thinking 2 1.2 lift with 35's.

35's and a 2.5 lift would work. But you will need better gearing and lockers to really enjoy Katemcy for what it is.

2.5 and 35's. You will need some substantial fender trimming or a body lift to keep them out of your fenders while flexing. I would go 4" minimum for 35's. I like 3.5 suspension and 2" body. By keeping suspension under 4" you should be able to keep all steering components in factory locations.

Without regearing I would stick with 33's, assuming you have 3.50's. If 4.11's, then 35's will work with some trimming and I would recommend 1-2" body lift. Lots of people do really well at K2 with 33's. I assume your planning on the LEBC Round Up at K2 in April?? ;D

Oh yea lol thats the plan! Got the wife on board to push up the time table on this. Not sure on the gearing, i do have a 4 speed with granny gear. I'm guessing 350's since the rear axle has never been touched.

If they've not been touched, what's the axle code on your VIN badge? Can jack up the rear and do the tire, drive shaft spin and see what ratio you have also.
