Never knew ford made a 381 ;)

381 ci equals 6.2L. I thought that HoD had installed a 5.4 mod-motor.

I believe its a cobra motor which is a 4.6 or 281.

Ya should read 281ci

Ya, smallest displacement V8 by far. Typo. I laughed too. Either it was just a typo or they thought it was a 6.2. Peterson's just did a photo shoot on it at Winter Fun Festival so I know they have the correct info. lol

Ttc 2013

Just wanted to post up and tell everyone thank you, for voting the Wife into Top Truck Challenge 2013. Don't really have the cash to go crazy or anything but I'll find a way to at least get the 46" Claws under her. The extra clearance and scrub from the 19.5"s will hopefully keep the body clean. Other than that she'll pretty much go as is. Thanks again everyone, and wish the ladies luck.

This is going to be good, I know when you started the build you were out to make a full bodied EB that can compete with buggies. All I can say is good luck and do us proud!

Thanks. Sure would prefer to have a Charged 6.2 for this comp though. Going to have to go easy on her for the Tow Test. The rest should be fun.

haha sweet! Did they approach you for the show?

Ya. Our local Newspaper the Gilroy Patch ran a story on her, and then the CBS News Station called about doing a story to run after the Tim McGraw Concert last night. They are running it again tonight on Channel 5 at 5:00 PM for anyone local here in the bay. I will post the link once the post it to their web site. I was really happy and pleasantly surprised too. They didn't make it some hoedown thing. They really did a good job putting it together.

Update 6/2/13

Man am I burnt out. Between work full time, fighting this damn sinus cold, and pulling these crazy hours trying to get read for the event I'm toast. Ran into problems with the Elocker not engaging. 4 Wheel Parts is seeing if they can warranty it. Wanted to take the SuperCrawler to for fun but found out both front bearings were toast Friday night. Gotta see if I can get parts in time tomorrow.
Well list of what's left is below. Last minute stinks but oh well. Still waiting for Inner Air Locks and RCV shafts. Sure would have been nice to get the wheels on this weekend. lol. Looks like it is going to be all nighters Thursday thru Sunday. Got the skid plate on for the Steering ram today. Only one other skid plate to make from the Engine crossmember to the Trans crossmember. Should be able to knock it out tomorrow night. If I get time I'll double shear steering Ram but if not I'm sure the 1.5" tube with the 5/8" bolt will hold for the comp.

Threw the 54"s on the other day goofing off. lol. They do not clear. They rub on the rear of the rock rails.

Watching the video, I kept saying- she needs much bigger tires... Then I saw the boggers...

Are you gonna run the 42s or something in between?

Somehow missed this post... So is it 42s, 46s, or 54s?

Update ttc 2013

Well the week has come and gone. She didn't take first, but she survived a competition amongst men that wheel every weekend. She didn't finish last in a single event. Experience ended up being the winning combo at the end of the week as it should be. Seeing all of the Full Size rigs back at TTC was awesome. All of the parts for example we ran worked to perfection. Two worst parts of the week were breaking a wheel in the logs that bent some steering parts all to heck and hitting a D4 Tractor coming down truck hill. A hub was unlocked and drug the Bronco sideways. She made a great save just as the Bronco went up on 2 wheels to roll and went for the tractor. After that never really recovered but she didn't give up and flopped in a tub. She did recover on Friday and finished witha respectable 8th in the Tank Trap keeping it on all 4s and making it all the way through the Canyon to the 4th water hole up top before time expired. Well thanks to all of the companies evolved in engineering great parts that made it through one of the toughest week long competitions on the planet. Ford Motor still running like a champ with the stock Sterling 10.5" shafts in the rear. Only part other than the wheel that failed were 2 1Ton tie rods from ORD that came out of the ball joints when I went to remove them from a bent Currie High steer arm that we bent right back flat. The fact that the Currie arm didn't crack, snap, or fail as far as it was bent was amazing. Any questions on how specific parts from throughout the build held up feel free to ask. Too many to thank, and they all performed so well. Here are some teasers. Thanks to everyone for the support and voting her in. Sorry we didn't perform as well as the Broncos capabilities. Really my fault for not getting the needed seat time.

I ran the 46" Claws. I was just messing with the other Competitors. Claws ran great as expected. She was just really short on seat time and we screwed up 6 ways to Sunday after the frame twister. She finished strong the Tank Trap though.

This is awesome and I am sure you did he Broncos proud. I would love to see pics of the broken parts... Especially the Currie high steer arms.

FWIW... I don't like the look of those wheels... You should have stuck with the 54s on the beadlocks!
