Chrysler big block; note the external oil pump and the large hole in the block for the distributor. Not to mention the 4 coolant ports or the really laid-over angle of the distributor.

I-H has the cold coolant supply go into the end of each cylinder head and the hot coolant out comes out of the intake manifold.

Cool. That was my first thought, but I've never actually seen one torn down, so the other angled distributor engines popped into my head.
Didn't recognize the quad water ports. But Buick also had an angled distributor. Maybe just not by that much?
Thanks.

Not sure if it is or isn't, but it never looks as laid over to me as do the BBMopars.

This is an I-H light duty V8; The dist sits straight up. The near side coolant tube is missing (goes between that horizontal hole under the dist cap and the hole at the outer/lower corner of the front of the cyl head), but can see the other one behind the water pump pulley:

Engine stands that hold BBC's without effort strain when holding one of these beasties.

Sorry, it's the spare for my 'cuda. I have to build it because I didn't measure and check everything so my old motor is knocking...

That's a harder call. Is it still correct with the timing pointer, TDC indicated really is TDC? Is the rubber badly cracked? Has the outer ring shifted fore or aft so that it no longer aligns with the hub? If yes, no, and no then I'd run it. If it is any of those things then I'd call Damper Dudes in Anderson, CA and talk to them about it.
