Removal of lower quarter panel from the Tail Light housing

I cut the quarter panel about 1" away from the seam. once it was out of the way it was easy to get to the spot welds. I drilled the spot welds completely through the tail light panel. I then welded the quarter panel to the taillight panel through the tail light opening. I first screwed them together with self tapping screws then welded the hole I created when i drilled out the spot welds. hope this make sense

I remember swearing alot during this part and who the heck designed this! lol I also wound up replacing both tail light housings. I did as Rojo said, welding through the tail light panel and did use self taping screws to hold things together, then welded.
