You cant remove the core support. Well, i guess you could but it would take drilling many spot welds out.

Find the spot welds where core and wheel well are welded to body mount. Drill those out, clean the surface with flap disc or whatever else you like to use and weld the new one in.

Key point, make sure the new one is welded in the "proper location". Depending on how bad the condition of the original mount, that may not be where it is now. Measure a bunch of times and maybe even brace that corner of the truck to the ground to hold in alignment while the mount is out of play.

If your body mount bushings are in rough shape it might be a good time to install new ones of those as well.

I know this is an older post but I'm in the middle of replacing the same support as the op. It looks like someone did a repair on mine at one time. When I bought the bronco it had brand new body mount bushings.
I didn't realize that the core support under the battery was not attached to the body mount until the other day.
The bottom of the core support was completely gone. Looks like it rotted out, and instead of replacing it when the new body mount bushings were replaced, someone made it look like it was attached.
Thanks po!

Just fyi for those who might have to do the same. There are 4 spot welds on the core support where it attaches to the wheel well. You can drill these out from the underside of the wheel well. I was able to find 3 of them. The 4th was at the base of the support and I didn't see it. I was lucky and the 4th spot weld wasn't very strong and it just popped off.

I also used a saws all and a dremel to cutout the rest of the support. It was a bit of a pain to do, but it is definitely doable.
