Hi Everyone,

I am installing old panes with a new seal and window track.

My understanding is I will tape the seal to the window and fit that in the track and then use heat to fix it in place. Am I missing anything?

I have heard people use some urethane. I can pickup some glass glue from loctite.

Thanks,

Essentailly, it's a friction fit between the window, the tape, and the channel.
You may need to (carefully) bend the channel to get a good fit. Then, line everything up and tap into place - I used a dead blow mallet, but careful tapping against a wooden block will work too.

Unless you have a compelling reason to use uretheane / glass glue / construction adhesive (haha) - I'd vote for the tape. Spending a little time on the channel, I got a nice snug fit. I think most every vendor that supports this site sells it for a reasonable price.

You might find these useful to show you how the felts etc. install:
