I've seen this one several times, in passing, and would love to rescue it so stopped in today. No one was home but I left a note expressing interest.

It's been there a while and is visible from a main highway so I'm sure I'm not the first to inquire but I thought i'd give it a shot. I doubt I'll get a call but hope springs eternal in the human breast! :)

Man that looks nice. I bought my Bronco from the original owner in Great Falls Montana. There are some nice rust free ones out west.

A friend of mine has been living in Butte, MT for a decade or so. He tells me from time to time about EBs for sale that sit unsold at what seem like very low prices. I have never pursued his leads - I do not want/need/have space for another EB. If what he tells me is true, then perhaps this is one of them? Good luck!

Techstudent you need to knock on that guy's door again. Befriend him and then maybe he will let it go if you show him you will give it the proper care.

I'll take it only if those awesome mud flaps are included

They do add a lot of charisma!

Yeah, perhaps I'll give it a few weeks and if no word then try to catch them at home. Notes are kind of impersonal and easy to dismiss. It would be a lot better to speak with them directly. I assume it would be gone by now if he was at all interested in selling.

Having worked in Missoula quite a bit in the past I used to spot Bronco's along the highway as I drove in through Spokane and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. There is an uncut Early Bronco located just before Lookout pass if I remember correctly that has been sitting in a parking lot for years. Has a snow plow attached to it but I've never seen it move even during the winter months. I found lots of other Broncos outside and around Missoula. Definitely try and talk with the owner, that's a good looking Bronco!

BroncKrawler, I know exactly the Bronco you speak of and it was there when I last went through in October. You can see it from interstate 90 (on the right as you head west) right?

That Bronco looks decent. I would try to get ahold of it. Go knock on the door and ask if it is for sale. I have had better luck knocking on doors than I have had leaving notes.

My '71 came from Montana. Had a door jam full of those old stickers for oil changes from a Shell station in Billings. Kind'a wish I still had them for the nostalgia factor.

When I bought it in '76, nobody around here had ever seen rust on a Bronco before. So I wasn't even thinking of looking for it more than just the cursory once-over that you'd give anything.
Looked it over three times before I bought it in fact, and completely missed that it was already rusted through in all the usual spots!

Used that one as a good lesson for others thinking of picking one up that didn't come from around here.

There are a lot of vintage cars and trucks in the rural parts of the country and some of them the owners have never had anyone ask them to sell, they just sit there.

It doesn't usually cost to ask, but be really observant of No Trespassing signs especially in Montana.

Nice 70-71 you have found. At least the owner sprays Round-Up to keep the grass and weeds from taking it over.

Go back and knock on the door. Let's see what happens???

Techstudent,
You in petroleum? I'm from Butte and graduated in 96 in welding engineering from Tech.
Been in the oilfield ever since.
That is a sweet little bronco in Whitehall (or is it in Pony? ). I wish you luck in getting it.

Now that being said, I have a bronco that is still sitting behind my parents house on Hwy 2. A few people have tried buying it over the years, but they all wanted it for next to nothing. Its nowhere near as nice as this one your looking at. And people have helped themselves to a few small parts on it (without permission). But it was my first auto, and I will be getting it ready for a trip to Alaska this summer. To be restored one day. Sorry for the sidebar.
