Anyone convert their stock switches to toggle? Any pics of your layout?

Viper I found your old schematic for this but admittedly got a bit lost when you said that it may differ a bit for an aftermarket harness. I'll be using a Painless, so anyone with any advise or schematics would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks as always

Interested to see what others have as well. I know it was discussed, but have not seen mention of toggle switches and Broncos for a long time now I don't think.
The "may differ" part can come in depending on what year your Bronco is (different dash layouts and more importantly different wire and fuse locations) and where you may be routing any new wiring.

What kind of toggle switches are you contemplating? Anything specific in mind yet, or just thinking generically at this point?

Distended, no pic or link is broken(?)

Donk, one goal would be to fit a double DIN radio in there but as you know the space is at such a premium, I started looking at moving the layout around and then wondered about changing to a row of toggles for items like lights, wipers, hazards, and possibly even ignition, to ideally make better use of the limited dash face space. I won't have a bunch of other custom items to just looking to clean it up a bit and possibly add a bit of a custom touch?

The wiring may need to be moved and adjusted depending on layout but thats where I'm hoping the Painless set up pays off?

Open to ideas....

Ahh, those are very nice. So you really meant "rocker" switches and not "toggle" switches. Different beast and as much as I still like toggles for their vintage looks, they're not everyone's first choice anymore. They either break off when you least expect it, of poke you in the forehead or eye when you're working on your dash up close and personal like.
And besides, they can't usually be got with those cool logos and nice modern lighting. A lighted rocker with the image of it's function on it is definitely the way to go.

Hard to see but I'll try and get a daytime pix. Purchased almost everything from OTRATTW.com. Wiper switch is from OTRATTW but uses a Dual Speed Intermittent Wiper Motor Controller from Marinco. Used a painless harness, but my dash is so custom I had to run extra lines to make everything work. The painless worked fine for everything that was a stock situation - wipers, headlights, turn signals, brights, oil, temp, amp, fuel etc.

Would love to see a day time pic! I run OTRATTW switches as well and love them! Which switch are you using for the windsheild wiper?

Here's a couple more poor shots I had in my records. I can't get out to the Bronco until this weekend to take anything better. Because I'm using a wiper controller, it requires a on/off/on momentary switch. Mine is V8D2UXXB but I believe it's been replaced with V8D2UCCB. Depending on your setup you can just get a Marinco wiper switch with the rocker on it and replace the rocker with something that will match whatever you're using.

This is great thank you....and Paul....duly noted on the actual switch type. Title changed. Thank you.

AZ73 where did you get the ignition switch? I love it.
NGSD- Is that a tablet and if so how did you set up that mount? And what did you set up on the left side of the column then?

That's my big challenge, is how to get a shallow dual DIN radio in or a clean tablet mount that can remain in reach, and then I guess Bluetooth music out to a soundbar....Or something like that.

Thanks for the pics and ideas. All very cool and helpful

My other build has a 2 DIN dash mount, there is room with that Kenwood unit. . The tablet uses Ram ball mounts with swivels.

Ok great to know. Is that a recent Kenwood model? And is it the single din chassis and dual face or a full dual?
And with the heater cable relocation, can you run the same cable lengths or did you have to modify those with their move?

Sorry for all the questions, but thanks, this is great stuff

I 3D printed an overhead switch box for the neighbors Yota project. Mounts where the rearview mirror goes with the overhead dome light and fits between the visors. There is a light built into the bottom cover for this (LED rock light). Forward and Reverse switches are Off-On-On so they match the down (off) position with the Off-On switches of the side lights. The beauty is, in the first (On) position they are activated by a relay from either the high beam or back up light circuit so they compliment those circuits. The second (On) position is direct power independent of the high beam or reverse circuit to activate.
