I have had several PM's and a few others ask me for better pictures of my Roll bar thru the dash with a frame tie in design. So I am going to post some better pictures of it. It is a lot of work and in no way can it be made into a simple kit. I am not recommending it to anyone, It's just how I did it. Feel free to ask questions, share ideas, whatever. My goal was to remove the bar at your feet, clear space for the emergency brake, get the bar close to the windshield frame and further away from the driver, especially where his head might contact it in a crash. I did have to make a completely different mount for the wiper motor.

Nice details, Roger. There is definitely more to it than first appears! I know you crash tested it also!

Very cool design. Did you build the brackets that live under the back of the front fenders? I assume you did, and if so that must have taken a ton of time. I am contemplating a similar project so I am curious of the details. Great job...

Had the same idea regarding at least the plate mounts and sandwich plates on the body, but never even considered the bolt-together design. Very clever!
And way more intricate than any I'd imagined in my doodling.

Is it just the angle of the pic, or are there two tubing sizes utilized on that interior (green) part? Curious about that detail. I'd only thought about simply welding it to the plate.

Thanks for posting up the pics.

Nice job Bax! Pretty slick how you went about getting this in place. Also with the quick connects you can remove the cage if you needed to god forbid. Is that he BC Bronco dash you are using or one that you made yourself. The top of the stock Bronco dash is nowhere near that wide! Either way, I see the extra space as a good thing as it gets tight behind there pretty quick and pulling it out a little further really won't hurt anything.

Good Job! ;D

The disconnects are pretty much mandatory in this design. The dash goes over the ends of the bars. And with the taper in the cage at that ares, you need to make the connection as low as possible in order to get a tight fit on the dash and dash pad. plus I wanted to be able to take the cage out if needed. That is a welded SS dash I had made. The top of the dash had to come out 1 7/8'' from the windshield mounting lip. This is mandatory in order to put the 1.75 tubing thru that area. I used 1.75 DOM .120 wall on most of the cage. There is some 1.625 DOM used in a few places. The dash is pretty much a copy of an original dash there are just a few angle changes. The wood part was shaped to look like a stock dash pad. The SS dash is on a cad file now and the guy that made it said he would make me another no problem if I ever did this again. He did a killer job building this part.

Dirt Donk: The A pillar is all 1.75 tubing, however the side kick panel plates ate 3/16'' sandwiched using 6 3/8'' # 8 bolts. The flat bar is 3/8'' This bar is welded to the outside plate and makes the mount for the rod end assembly that goes back to the frame. Those are one inch rod ends. with a 3/4'' thru bolt. The tubing used here is some of the 1.625 because that was the size I needed to use because of the threaded inserts OD.

That's some very nice engineering and details, Roger....but I see a LOT of man-hours in there too.

I like the tie-in Roger. Nice and clean and I bow to your attention to detail.
I want to know if the rag gas cap is custom or can I get one at the local parts store?;)

Rag gas cap is custom. I think it was from some of my underwear.

Yes Bill it was an experiment in finding a way to get the front a pillar bars away from your feet. There were a bunch of hours into it. I did not charge for any of it. I used his truck to see if I could do it. Would I do it again? Yes, but I would charge for it now because I know it works and is a great improvement with the bar out of the way. The owner loved it. I think we all give labor away to learn something some times.

The wing window would of worked , however the customer did not want doors. I had a wing window and put it in place. No real issues. Tighter than stock but it still worked.

Yes Melbourne FL
