Hey guys,
I really want a set of the AR969 wheels but can’t get them now in the 5x5.5 bolt pattern or with the back spacing we bronco nuts need. What’s your opinion on just getting the wheel and then running spacers and a different bolt pattern... like 5x4.5?

A common problem with the smaller bolt pattern wheels is that the hole in the center for the hub will be too small for the Bronco hub to go through it.

Jeez, I’m just too picky I guess since I’m gonna drop a load of money on new wheels and tires. I really like the old school slot look but want the fake bead on there .

Have Moser engineering re drill your axles and hub assembly for whatever pattern you want, usually quick turnaround time also. Great service any time I had it done.

Wait...are you after the 969's or the 929's like your post says?
AR shows the 969's available in a 5.5 but maybe it's the backspacing that's the main problem.

You could always buy a set of slots and have OMF performance add either a fake or real beadlock.

Sorry , yes the 969s just like in the pic . I was told not available in the 5x5.5 or with 3 inch back spacing. I have no problem running spacers. I just think those wheels are SICK .

The 5x139.70 is the metric equivalent of a 5x5.5. In a 15" wheel, AR only sells a 3.75" backspacing. You could achieve a 3" backspacing with a 3/4" spacer if you can find one. Of course you have to address lug/stud length and I would suggest high quality billet spacers.
Lots of opinion and discussion out there about whether or not spacers are a 'good idea' but that's a whole 'nudder conversation.

I believe you are looking for the AR969 in a 17x8" with a 4.5" Backspacing. They don't make these anymore, as you have found out. I've been looking too for over a year now.

I am not a fan of wheel spacers, but if you can keep the overall thickness of the spacer to 1 1/4" or less than it should work for you. It may push the tire out a little, but not bad if you have Fender Flares.

Only install Good Billet Aluminum spacers, never cast aluminum, these break.

Ok cool. I appreciate all that info.
I’ve ordered some Indy 101 slots (17x9 with 3.5 back spacing) and having fake beads installed. Pricey work, but it’ll be what I want and should be a forever wheel on my ride.

Mickey Thompson used to sell just the Outer Ring for their Classic Lock wheels. These used to come in a 17" as well. Maybe an option to add them???
