After ripping my second pair of shorts walking past my front bumper, this mod has just moved it’s way up my to do list. And I think it looks better anyway keep up the good work.

Yes, I've ripped a few pants as well!

Lookin' real "authentic" Scoop! What's your plan for the surface rust in the headlight vicinity!?

I'm struggling with this at this point. I'll probably first try knocking any of the loose paint off, treating with a rust inhibitor and clear coating.

LOL, PO had some sort of contraption locked in there

There are 4 screw holes on top of each wheel well that line up with the notches on the bed rail. So, yes, it looks like something was mounted there. I was thinking maybe some ammo boxes but sliding them under the bed rail would keep them from opening up??

Possibly a fifth wheel hitch?

I have a set of vintage, period correct rectangular KC highlighters (amber I think) with the covers if you want them. I don't throw away anything. They would look perfect on that rig.

Yup, they sure look period correct!!

Thanks!!

They won't fit under the tabs due to the angle of the Cactus Smasher. So to use them I'll need to move the tabs down. As is they pretty much block the turn signals.

Moving right along . . . next up is the rust/rot on the windshield frame. I'm trying to take care of all the areas that are easier to get to with the top off and the glass out. I'd like to get the top back on as soon as possible.

Here's the spot. It's kind of a tricky one in that has the wiring for the wipers going through it.

First I removed the gutter and marked where I wanted to cut out.

Then pieced it back together.

Scoop is just doing it like they do it on TV fellows!......he doesn't show the hours of contemplating, cutting, fitting and finishing! Just a before picture and then seconds later, a finished picture! You go Gary!

Might have some competition in the “most patina” category, Gary. I see the Island Queen all spruced up and on eBay now. ;-)
