My C-4 is all original, never been re-built, but for a '76, the truck only has 22K original miles.
I am going to change the fluid/filter soon and install a B&M tranny in-line temp guage.
Is a shift kit going to "speed up it's death?"
Should I leave what's not-broke alone?
No heavy 'wheelin and new 33" BFG's (had it up to 78 mph this weekend)

Wish i could have come over and seen it. I was always under the understanding that a kit is actually beneficial to the trans due to the crisper shifts. I need some pics of that truck!

Yep. I don't think the old seals are going to like the increased pressure.

Why don't you pull it and do a soft rebuild, before you start to burn clutches and bands? Then put in the shift kit, and you'll be good for a few more years.

It's running fine as-is. Not going through pulling it for a "soft rebuild" Guess I'll drive till it drops, then go for it.
Thanks
