It's not the same thing. A shorter shifter isn't the same as a shorter throw. The difference is in the length below the pivot point.

With their shifter you must use the Lokar adaptor. A short shifter is a combo of both the shifter length above pivot point as well as below.

The Lokar adaptor has 2 pivot points pre-drilled (as seen on the picture) on the link. Stock and short. Use the short hole for the rotation and cut the bottom 2 inches off their shift handle (it's already drilled for regular and short throw) and you have a nice short shifter with a short throw. Or, do one and not the other to make it a short shifter but not a short a throw.

Give us an update on the Core shifter and how it works. I have a Stock shifter that came with my kit and it is honestly too far away from me at time in the truck. Thought about bending the arm to bring it closer but that would not make it shift better. So I may be interested in one as well if you like it.

Actually that is the major difference. Hurst shifters have the traditional flat hurst lever w/logo and B&M have a round lever.

You're right, B&M/Hurst doesn't make the flat Hurst style anymore. Although they are made for the same applications, they are nothing alike. Even the inards are different.

My Core Shifter Hurst lever is a perfect match for the Duff twin sticks...in my opinion! I would post pics but my Bronco is being restored down at the Bronco Connection.

The LOKAR adapter has 2 lower holes. Those do not give you choice for the throw. You use which ever hole that works for the tranny you have. That adapter fits multiple transmissions. The pivot point is what it is. Yes a aftermarket base(billet) could have a lower pivot point, but in reality it can't be more than a 1/4 in lower.

I agree with you, but you could use the Duffy lever which will bolt directly on to the "core" you have and it will match exactly to our Duff twin sticks.

Its still not a matter of the stick/arm being shorter in height its how the lower base is made and the way the pivot point changes the distance you have to move the shifter in order to change gears. The Lokar adapter allows you to have a shorter arm there for making it feel like you have a short throw shifter and also adds some clearance with it being placed in a different place but it does not actually change the throw it just makes it feel like its shorter. So B&M/ Hurst less effort, quicker shifts, tighter tolerances, sporty feel and not a shorter arm, Lokar same effort to shift just shorter arm making more clearance and the feel of a shorter shifting pattern not a closer shift pattern.
Sorry just speaking from a old racer stand point on shifters there is a difference and its not just the length of the arm.

Ok. Got the Core. Looks just like an old school Hurst! And by that I mean it looks VERY good! Shifts are short and sweet. Solid. My only issue is I am having an issue figuring out how to cover the tunnel holes for the WH Twin sticks and the shifter. Any thoughts?

Awhile back I designed my own aluminum cover plate to fit the Duff twin sticks and the Hurst shifter.

I found a pic of my first prototype design. I have since changed it and made it much better IMO. I will see if I can find it on my work comouter tomorrow and post the updated version. Very soon I will have to get the DXF file to the machine shop and carve one out.

I don't have the assembly together yet, but I found boots on eBay that would work. They all look pretty much the same, so many of the Bronco vendors have them I think?

That looks very cool. I ordered 3 boots from CarId today. I was thinking about an aluminum or stainless plate like that with a raised inner edge. Use snaps or Velcro around the bottom. I don't think I'm good enough to make that engraving! Show me what you have.

I am running the NV3550 and the WH twin sticks and this is what I came up with to cover my Massive opening in the floor. Bit of a PITA to figure it all out but pretty happy with how it all came together! ;D

That is excellent! Looks like what I was planning for my '69 Mustang. Very smooth. I'm thinking of trying to tie in both of the twin sticks shifter boots and leave the NV shifter by itself like you did.

Rockwell Standard gear, or Novak conversions. I would just use the original style, like the one offered by a fellow member. These are truck transmissions and fast hard shifting is really not good for them, so a short throw shifter is really not necessary.

I don't think it's about quick shifts as I found it just needed a shorter throw. The shifter that came in the kit felt like I was rowing a boat.
