Yesterday, I received an exceptionally well packed box of goodies from Toms. The one thing that I could not wait to install is their deluxe steering wheel. No problem, figured replacing the wheel should take about 30 minutes max.

Swapped out wheels and contact rings, then had no horn...but it sure looked good. Since the horn worked before the swap, I swapped back to the original contact ring, still nothing. Called Toms and spoke with Lonnie who troubleshot my issue. After about 20 minutes of back and forth with me on the meter looking for voltage, he figured out the steering shaft coupling (rag joint) was not allowing for a complete circuit. For a temporary repair, I made a jumper connecting the upper shaft to the lower shaft placing the terminal ends under the spline bolt (upper shaft) and a coupling bolt (lower shaft).

The entire team at TBP Rocks! Lonnie if you read this, I cannot thank you enough for your time and patience.

Roger
